Photography, Geology, and the Essence of Landscape

Claudia Ocanto was born in Córdoba, Argentina, in 1972. She is a geologist by profession, specializing in the environment and climate change. She began her journey in photography over 20 years ago, creating technical compositions for geological and environmental studies.

Her work intertwines the poetic and scientific dimensions. This fusion grants her art a vision that combines the rational and the spiritual—valuing a portion of territory and seeking to capture its essence, while keeping in mind that it is immersed in a complex landscape shaped by cultural, geographical, and political tensions.

With a refined aesthetic and a deeply committed, sensitive approach to fieldwork, she seeks to raise awareness about the need to care for and preserve the Earth: "every part of this beautiful and complex mechanism of which we are a part.
